& Ponies' by Usborne Pocketbooks. They show basic horse markings and
some specific breeds, to act as a guide to painting your own horses. |
Chestnut, brown and bay horses are common. Most horses will
have a white mark on the face. Most horses have white markings on the leg,
mostly 1, 2 or 3 legs will be marked, rarely none or all. Colour Party Paints do an excellent range of horse colour's acrylic paints. I find these work well as a thinned paint over a horse under-coated white or yellow, so that the under-coat is allowed to show through on the highlights |
